The Honor 8C will be the first smartphone to be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 632 Mobile Platform, which was announced late in June this year. the Snapdragon 632 is a 14nm architecture based chipset with Qualcomm’s custom Kryo 250 CPUs, the X9 LTE modem coupled with 4GB RAM and Adreno 506 graphics

Two weeks ago, Huawei’s Honor sub-brand teased a new smartphone launch in China on October 11. Dubbed as Honor 8C, the smartphone as teased in an invite that has a tagline which read “Charging Up”. The Chinese manufacturer has now revealed a glimpse of the smartphone with some key details and the highlight of the story is its internals. 

The Honor 8C, as reported by PhoneRadar, will be the first smartphone to be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 632 Mobile Platform, which was announced late in June this year. the Snapdragon 632 is a 14nm architecture based chipset with Qualcomm’s custom Kryo 250 CPUs and the X9 LTE modem. 

The latest Snapdragon chipset will be able to offer 40 percent more computational power than the Snapdragon 626, making enough room for 4K video recording and elongated FHD+ displays on the front. The included Adreno 506 GPU will render games 10 percent faster with the ability to handle a few 3D titles without hiccups. With Qualcomm’s refined take on AI and Huawei’s already established AI development, the SND 632 on the Honor 8C will be able to run neural networking related operations like object and face recognition with ease. 

Apart from that, the teaser also revealed the Honor 8C in some of its glory, hitting at a glossy rear panel with a notch on the front. Expect a 6.26-inch FullView IPS HD+ display with a resolution of 1520 × 720 pixels, 19:9 aspect ratio and a screen real estate that spans as much as 86.6 percent. 

The Honor 8C will be configured with 4GB RAM with different storage options and support for a micro SD card of up to 256GB. There will be a 4,000mAh battery that will be able to provide a talk time of roughly 50 hours and the phone will run on Android 8.1 Oreo with Huawei’s EMUI 8.1 skin on top. The device will boast of a dual-camera setup that combines a 13MP primary lens with a 2MP sensor. There’s a circular fingerprint scanner at the back as well.
